Delay with vessel departing Long Beach this past Saturday

The vessel Mokihana, voyage 234, will be arriving into Honolulu around 0800 Thursday. This is more than 12 hours late. Many shipments that would normally deliver on Thursday may not deliver until Friday. We will expedite as much as we can. The vessel sustained some damage while loading in Long Beach and had to be repaired prior to sailing.

Steamship line increases ocean fuel surcharge

Matson Navigation announced an increase to the fuel surcharge effective October 7. The increase will bump the surcharge up to 43.5%. This is an extremely high rate, but short of the record high in June of last year. Click here to see Matson’s official announcement. Our Aloha Freight invoices will reflect the new rate on shipments dated on or after the effective date.

Matson has announced that starting this Wednesday, August 8, the vessel departure from Long Beach has been advanced to 0400. The previous departure time was 1000, so it has been advanced by 6 hours. Matson has notified us of a delay in the departure of the vessel scheduled to depart Long Beach tomorrow, Wednesday. The vessel has a mechanical problem with a turbo charger that will result in a delay of approximately 12 hours. We will expedite all shipments upon arrival. The vessel Matsonia 522 that departed Long Beach on Saturday 12/31/11 will be arriving into Honolulu more than 12 hours late. Containers would usually be available starting Thursday morning on January 5. They will not become available until the afternoon.
